Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. This policy explains which cookies FODSPOT uses and why, and how you can control them.
Necessary cookies
These are essential to provide the service you asked for, so they are always on. Under UK privacy law (PECR) strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent.
- Authentication (set by Supabase when you sign in) — keeps you signed in as you move around the website.
- Payment security (set by Stripe, only on the payment step) — helps prevent fraud when you pay for a job listing.
- Security and bot protection (set by Cloudflare and Turnstile) — protect our forms and keep the website secure.
We also store your theme and view preferences, and your cookie choices, in your browser’s local storage. These are set in response to your choices, are not used for tracking, and never leave your device.
Analytics cookies
We use analytics to understand how the website is used so we can improve it. These are not essential, so we set them only after you agree— you’ll see a banner on your first visit, and nothing is set until you choose.
- Google Analytics 4 — measures page views and how visitors use the website. It sets cookies and only loads once you accept analytics. We use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics cookies are set beforehand.
- Mouseflow — records anonymised sessions and heatmaps so we can see how pages are used. It sets cookies and only loads once you accept analytics. Keystrokes are masked, and sensitive fields (such as your email, name and messages) are excluded from recordings.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics — gives us aggregate visitor numbers. It is cookieless and collects no personal data, so it needs no consent.
Managing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the necessary cookies above may stop you signing in or completing a payment.
